Rainbow Light Helps Empower Women Through Excellent Health

Women's Unique Nutritional Needs

As a leader in the nutritional industry, we at Rainbow Light understand a woman’s unique physical journey throughout life that begins with puberty and moves through pregnancy and motherhood for many women, and later, menopause. While these stages come with physiological and emotional changes, our purpose is to help women embrace and celebrate every life-stage with vibrant, long-lasting good health.

Combining healthy diet and lifestyle with appropriate, gender-specific nutrient and botanical support can help manage and ease these life cycle changes, promoting healthy balance of your metabolism, energy and hormones at every life stage.* However, learning about key nutrients can be daunting and confusing. So, we’ve summarized some of them below to help you through your journey.

Calcium, Magnesium and Vitamin D

These nutrients are especially important for women, as they help build, strengthen and sustain strong bones and healthy muscles and also work together with other vitamins, minerals and hormones to support bone health.*

Women ages 19-50 should consume 1,000 mg calcium per day; from age 51 and up, the recommendation increases to 1,200 mg per day.* Learn more about recommended calcium intakes here: http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Calcium-QuickFacts/

Magnesium is important to support calcium absorption for bone strength. It also supports muscle relaxation and can ease cramping. Women ages 19-30 should get 310 mg of dietary magnesium daily; women ages 31+ need 320 mg. http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/Magnesium-HealthProfessional/

Vitamin D is also essential to support healthy growth and development.* Although many nutritional researchers recommend far higher levels of vitamin D to be taken daily, the recommended daily allowance (RDA) of Vitamin D is as follows.

Folic Acid

All women of childbearing age should get at least 400 mcg of folic acid and the recommendation increases to 800 mcg during pregnancy.*

Women who are trying to conceive, or who are pregnant or nursing, should take a daily prenatal multivitamin, as your nutrient requirements during this time increase to nourish your baby’s growth and development, as well as to keep you healthy and support your energy levels.*.

Energy Supporting B Vitamins

Today’s daily lives are often over-scheduled and stressful.  B vitamins can help you manage your day by naturally promoting proper energy levels, while offering support for your nervous system, brain and heart.*

Plant-Based Nutrients

In addition to vitamins and minerals, plant-based nutrients offer important nutritional support for normal hormonal balance, increased vitality and for coping with life-stage changes such as PMS, pregnancy and menopause.* Dong quai and red clover are thought to strengthen the blood and female organs. Vitex and black cohosh, in research-backed potencies, support hormonal balance and can ease common PMS and menopause symptoms. Fresh ginger soothes digestive upsets, especially nausea during pregnancy, and mountain cranberry supports urinary tract health.*

When it comes to nutrition, many researchers and health care professionals agree: women of all agesWomen's Multivitamins from Rainbow Light can benefit from taking a daily multivitamin.
