Circle of Care Program Celebrates 30 Years of Corporate Social Responsibility

Rainbow Light To Be Honored as a Founding Supporter by Vitamin Angels on March 6

ANAHEIM, Calif. (March 6, 2014)─ Rainbow Light Nutritional Systems, the number-one trusted natural vitamin brand, today announced its Circle of Care corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. This new program will formalize Rainbow Light’s history of good corporate citizenship that began with the introduction of the first natural, food-based vitamins more than 30 years ago. The brand will celebrate the campaign with a Circle of Care kick-off party at the Natural Products Expo West (booth #1304), Friday, March 7 at 4:00 p.m., during which former Go-Go’s band member, and Rainbow Light Game-Changer Kathy Valentine will perform.

The Circle of Care - Twenty Years of Providing Life-Saving Nutrients around the World

As the founding supporter of Vitamin Angels and in partnership with the World Health Organization, Rainbow Light has provided life-changing nutrients to women and children around the world for 20 years through their 10-to-1 donation program. For every 10 bottles of its market-leading prenatal line and Kid’s One vitamins sold, the company extends its reach to one mom or child in need. Through the Circle of Care, Rainbow Light will expand its donation program to include key promotional products and time periods throughout the year. This increase enables the company to provide more life-saving vital nutrients to the hundreds of thousands of women and children in need.

25 Years of Environmental Stewardship 

The Circle of Care program encompasses the company’s environmental stewardship, which has been core to Rainbow Light’s brand ethos. The company commissioned the industry’s first environmental impact study to establish best practices for reducing its packaging footprint almost 25 years ago. By repurposing existing plastic, Rainbow Light learned it could reduce carbon emissions seven-fold over other alternatives. The study ultimately led to the development of the company’s trademark Eco-Guard™ bottles, which are made from 100-percent recycled and infinitely recyclable BPA-free plastic. With this technology, Rainbow Light now keeps nine million bottles from entering the waste stream every year.
