FDA/GMP-Compliant Supplements Provide the Highest Purity, Safety & Quality Standards
Santa Cruz, Calif. (March 19, 2012) - Rainbow Light is committed to delivering nutritional supplements of unsurpassed purity, safety and quality. Rainbow Light's bio-balanced products are made in the USA in a certified organic facility in compliance with the Food and Drug Association’s (FDA) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Rainbow Light has rigorous standards and processes in place to ensure careful selection of suppliers, purity testing of all inbound materials and testing of our products through every stage of manufacture including finished goods testing.
To begin, every formula is thoroughly reviewed by Rainbow Light’s product development team, which includes a board-registered dietitian, a certified nutritionist and a fourth-generation herbalist with a Ph.D. in integrative biology and 30 years of clinical experience. Rainbow Light combines the latest research with proven herbal wisdom and nutritional science to develop products that deliver meaningful health benefits.
Rainbow Light employs rigorous quality and purity testing through every stage of production. All incoming raw materials have certificates of purity and identity and Rainbow Light tests these materials with state-of-the-art technology to ensure they are free of microbiological contaminants, pesticides, herbicides and heavy metals. All botanicals are also tested to authenticate their identity.
- • Purity tests are conducted using ICPMS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) methodology, which guarantees herbs to be free of most common heavy metals
- • FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) verifies positive ingredient identification
- • HPTLC (High Performance Thin Layer Chromotography) is the gold standard of herbal authentication
Finished products are tested by third-party labs and are also tested in-house to ensure they comply with FDA’s GMPs and California Prop 65, the Safe Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, which is a stricter regulation of toxic substances that cause cancer and birth defects than FDA regulations.
As part of Rainbow Light’s 31 year heritage, the company has been on the forefront of legislation pertaining to dietary supplements. Rainbow Light is a longstanding member of leading trade organizations for the natural products industry, such as the Council for Responsible Nutrition, the American Dietetic Association, the Non-GMO Project, the American Herbal Products Association, the American Herbalists Guild, the Natural Products Association, the American Botanical Council, and the Sustainable Packaging Coalition. These organizations have played key roles in the development and passage of the Dietary Supplement and Health Education Act (DSHEA) in 1994. DSHEA defined “dietary supplement”, and set standards for ingredient and nutrition labeling, permissible claims, and established a safety standard, the basis for supplement Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Rainbow Light is committed to providing natural supplements that are safe, pure and effective. The company complies with all labeling regulations and their products are regularly tested to ensure that the potencies and ingredients shown on the label are accurate.
Rainbow Light products contain no artificial or objectionable additives. All Rainbow Light products are vegetarian, except for animal-derived ingredients present in certain products and clearly noted on the label.
