Everyday Is Earth Day

Earth Day happens once a year in April. At Rainbow Light, we wish to make everyday Earth Day because we believe that the choices we make have a big impact on the Earth. 

As part of one of our biggest initiatives, we are committed to leaving our oceans better than we found them. From eco-friendly bottles to sustainable fishing to being a part of Save Our Shores, we are dedicated to helping the planet by protecting marine environment.

Eco-Guard™ Bottles

Americans buy 34.6 billion single serve water bottles per year. Eight out of ten of those water bottles end up in landfills each year. The simple choice of what bottles we use makes a big impact globally. We use Eco-Guard™ bottles made from 100% recycled material that is also 100% recyclable. This not only reduces the need for virgin plastic and thus the fossil fuel consumption required to create that plastic, but it is also BPA free and FDA approved. By choosing these bottles, we reduced our carbon footprint by 92%! We strongly encourage post-consumer recycling to keep plastic out of our landfills and oceans.

Sustainable Fishing Practices

When we started formulating Omega’s – our line of 100% pure fish gelatin supplements, we wanted to create the best performing Omega’s on the market. We also wanted to reduce our impact on the ocean by harvesting non-endangered fish. Our search brought us to the #1 fishery ecosystem in the world, Peru!

To go even further, we partnered with Fabien Cousteau’s Plant a fish™ organization. For every Omega performance product sold, Rainbow Light contributes to saving one sea turtle and provides educational outreach in El Salvador.

Save Our Shores

To continue our commitment to the Earth’s oceans, Rainbow light has adopted Woodrow Beach in Santa Cruz County, California. We make donations and hold regularly scheduled clean-up events to keep Woodrow beach clean.  This initiative is in cooperation with Save Our Shores, a non-profit whose mission is to care for marine environments through advocacy and citizen action.

These are just a few examples of what we are doing to make our impact on the environment smaller but to leave this earth a little better than we inherited it. When you reach for one of our products, you can trust that we are driven by our responsibility to the Earth in everything we do.

What can you do to make every day Earth Day?

Small choices really add up. Here are a few ways that you can make small choices today that make a big impact on our Mother Earth. The more you make these changes, the easier it becomes to be a little greener and live a more sustainable life.

·        When you shop, chose products that come in eco-friendly packaging, such as minimal packaging  and post consumer recycled containers

·        Refuse plastic and paper bags, instead bring reusable bags to carry your purchases home

·        Instead of purchasing bottled water, use a reusable bottle that you can refill with water

·        Use mugs, china and silverware -  not disposable products - at work and at home
